
Apple and Cinnamon Jam


As the leaves fall and the air turns crisp, this autumnal apple and cinnamon jam brings a touch of warmth to your kitchen. The cosy blend of sweet apples and fragrant cinnamon is the perfect complement to the cool weather.

Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
- 1 Kg apples
- 300g sugar
- 1/2 lemon (juiced)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Method
- Place the chopped apple and caster sugar into a large saucepan with 350ml of water and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Allow to gently simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
- Stir in the lemon juice and the cinnamon and simmer gently for another 2-3 mins until the mixture is thick and glossy.
- Check it is ready by putting a dab on a frozen plate, if it is runny then cook it for a further 10 minutes or so.
- Serves 6 x 0.25 litre jars, keeps for 3 months.
