Chinese Infused Sesame Oil

Ingredients (to fill a KilnerĀ® 550ml Square Clip Top Bottle)

  • 2 garlic bulbs
  • 40g ginger
  • 4 spring onions (white bottom removed)
  • 300ml sesame oil
  • 300ml oil of choice (preferably something light like sunflower/rapeseed)

Method

Separate the garlic bulbs and peel the cloves, slicing larger cloves in half

Use 4 tbsps of sesame oil to pan fry the garlic over a medium heat for 5-6 minutes, being careful not to burn. Drain the oil and add the garlic to the bottle

Pour your sesame oil into your bottle

Peel and add the ginger and add the spring onions

Lastly, pour your second choice of oil into the bottle making sure your spring onions are fully submerged.

Notes:

Allow to infuse overnight, and store in the cupboard for 4-6 weeks.

To fill the 250ml Square Clip Top Bottle instead, just half the ingredients.
